The Alpilles mountains reign almighty in the distance. They reveal their many guises, and sometimes they hide in a mist of low cloud, a billowing white, and other times, every crevice is laid bare, their darkened veins exposed.Nicky Ginsberg, Creative Director, NG Art Creative
A few kilometres from the historical village of Maussane in Provence lies the charming 17th century olive mill, Moulin de Gréoux. Its heavy timber doors open into an imposing entrance hall that welcomes guests into the stone walls and vaulted ceilings of the cathedral like gallery with its intriguing architectural features that provide clues to the Moulin’s history.
Running parallel to the gallery, is an even more magnificent dining room and lounge in which the visitor will be awed by the massive timbers of the ancient press where generations have extracted the green gold liquid from olives harvested from the surrounding groves.
Bathed in a warm golden light, the stones of the Moulin invite creatives to re ignite their imagination within its studios, cathedral like gallery, indoor swimming pool, evolving gardens and its history of the olive mill. Residents will be immersed within a space of nourishment and enlightenment.
We invite you to revel in home-cooked Feast for the Senses dinners and special soirées at the Moulin de Gréoux.
Engage in musical and performance evenings around the grand piano, learn some mother tongue from Madame Nicky, enhance your culinary skills in workshops by local and professional chefs and indulge in fine, organic wines produced locally within the bewitching Alpilles region.
Recline with a book in hand, reinvigorate yourself in the indoor swimming pool, and relax in the company of your fellow creatives. Meander along the nearby sun-kissed streets of Maussane, or opt for the endless meditative buzz of cicadas across sweeping, rugged Provençal planes and olive groves and cap off your night gazing at the starry starry night sky.
Most importantly, nourish your soul and find sanctuary. Unearth that place of peace, silence and refuge, in which to create, paint, draw, sculpt, write, sing, rhyme, film, photograph, ponder life, and collaborate. Moulin de Gréoux is just that; a nurturing space to reside, explore and, above all, create, while you continue on your journey, perhaps a road unknown…
Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin. Dance me through the panic ‘til I’m, gathered safely in. Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove. Dance me to the end of love. – Leonard Cohen
